Vincent Girardin, Meursault Charmes Dessus other_regions_australia A strong spine of acidity

A strong spine of acidity and tannins is currently keeping the wine a bit youthfully simple

Reduction and wood toast make for a pungent combination

Surely something simpler must be possible

with almost painful concentration and intensity that powers through the mocha and caramel-tinged finish

A much more deeply pitched nose of dark berry fruit

Vincent Girardin, Meursault Charmes Dessus other_regions_australia A strong spine of acidityHere the elegant and airy nose is aromatically similar to the Narvaux but with markedly more floral influence and less petrol. There is better volume to the slightly richer and fleshier yet very well delineated medium bodied flavors that are overtly saline, which adds a sense of lift to the clean, dry and linear finish. Lovely stuff that could also use a few years of keeping to further flesh out.
